When framing a large lino print on 52gsm paper, it's important to use a strong backing board that won't bow in the centre. We recommend using a 10mm white PVC board, such as Palight or Foamalite.

The print should be mounted on an archival acid-free conservation mount board. Any adhesive tapes used to attach the print to the mount board or the PVC board should also be acid-free and of archival quality. The exact size and colour of the mount board can be discussed with your frame maker. However, we suggest using a white mount board that is whiter than the paper on which the image is printed.

Glazing. Larger framed prints or artworks are better suited to acrylic glazing. The acrylic allows for a little more flex and it’s much harder to break than glass. UV acrylic at a thickness of 3mm will be sufficient. There is an option of non-reflective glazing in both glass and acrylic. Non-reflective UV acrylic glazing is by far the the preferred option but non-reflective is considerably more expensive but the results are superb because as one looks at the artwork there is virtually no reflection.
